Special Field Day Olympic Magic at Zavalla ISD

by Zavalla Eagle Staff

Today, Zavalla ISD hosted a heartwarming Special Field Day Olympics, bringing together students from Broaddus, Brookeland, San Augustine, and Zavalla for a day full of fun, friendly competition, and community spirit. The event featured a variety of engaging activities where every student had the opportunity to shine. At the end of the day, all participants proudly walked away with medals, plenty of ribbons, and memories of a fantastic experience shared with peers from across the area.”, said Coach Zach Daugherty, Athletic Director, Zavalla ISD.

In small schools, the Special Field Day Olympics isn’t just another event—it’s the big day. A day where every kid gets a moment to shine, especially those who may not see their name on a varsity roster or hear cheers from the bleachers all season long.

For the kids who don’t play on the basketball team or run track, this Special Field Day Olympics is their championship. It’s a day where the spotlight is shared, and success comes in dash races or walks, long jumps, discus shot put, and the joy of being on a team.

🏅 Everyone gets to compete.
🎉 Everyone gets to laugh.
❤️ Everyone feels like they belong.

In schools where community is everything and each student matters, a Special Field Day Olympics becomes a celebration of inclusion, creativity, and fun. It’s not about stats—it’s about smiles.

Here’s to the kids who don’t always get the medal, but today feel like champions. 💪🎈
